for

Dear Members and Friends of the Polish Home,

The Polish Home Building Commission cordially invites everybody to a public meeting for our community feedback hearing on the final proposal for the Polish Home expansion project.

The Architect for the project, Mr. Roy Koczarski, members of the PHA Building Commission and the PHF Fundraising Committee will be on hand to answer all the questions you might have. The project has been widely publicized and brochures describing it sent to the PHA mailing list. It is also available at the internet at http://PolishHomeFoundation.org/new/Remodeling.htm

  • Since last May, the PHF Fundraising Committee has gathered over $250,000 in pledges for the Phase I of the expansion project, including over $70,000 in cash donations.
  • In December 2005, PHA received a conditional use permit for the construction; the decision is appealed currently by a neighbor but we expect a positive resolution.
  • In December 2005, the Building Commission consulted the project with all the current users of the building and several modifications to the project have been made.

Thus the project is ready to go into the execution phase, and specifically, commissioning of the actual construction plans. Before we sign off on it though, wider community feedback is needed, hence the public meeting. The actual construction is tentatively planned for the summer of 2007.

The project has generated a lot of enthusiasm and support. With the momentum we have had so far we expect to gather enough funds to be able to start the construction in the summer of 2007. Everyone will benefit from efforts made today to take our Polish Home into the 21st century!

Please support our project and come to the community feedback meeting!

Sincerely,

Ron Golubiec

Chairman, PHA Building Commission
